Running, I'm always running

Fire surrounds me
I can't escape
Running, I'm always running

Bodies lie next to me
a baby clutches to a lifeless hand
Running, I'm always running

Gunfire is everywhere
I can hear screams
Running, I'm always running

Who can I trust
Who is my friend
Running, I'm always running

It's mass hysteria
people call out to lost friends
Running, I'm always running

I'm safe now
but I still can't forget
Running, I'm always Running

Love the repetition- "running" lends an urgency and imagery to this poem.
